About Us
Location
Based in the Shenandoah Valley of Western Virginia, we are located in downtown Harrisonburg, VA. Right off of interstate 81, Harrisonburg is a great location for wilderness adventures, such as hiking and mountain biking. We are a short drive from Washington D.C. and from Richmond, VA, and are sandwiched between Shenandoah National Park and the George Washington National forest. Harrisonburg is also home to James Madison University, and Eastern Mennonite University, which gives the city a lot of life during the school year.
Our Team
Ken Bell
Twenty-five years ago, Ken started Tradeshow Direct, which designs and fabricates counters and booths for companies to show off their products and/or service. He learned the ropes of business, design and entrepreneurship over the decades. However, as the Covid-19 pandemic hit full swing in 2020, the entire Tradeshow industry tanked, forcing us to pivot our business. With the design knowledge, fabrication experience and business know-how, we’re excited to see where this next stage of our company will take us. Off the clock, Ken enjoys riding his bike, and taste testing craft brews!
Austin Bell
Recently graduated from the University of Virginia’s Architecture School, Austin, son of Ken, grew up in fabrication spaces, always tinkering. Austin has been working with Eugene Stoltzfus Architects in Harrisonburg, as a drafter and fabricating high end cork furniture. He is proficient in several CAD programs, which he uses to draft, 3D model, and CNC route prototypes and many components for our vans. After Ken’s Tradeshow business was hit hard by Covid, Austin decided to join forces to help create Skyline Van Design. Off the clock, Austin enjoys his own woodworking projects, and jamming with friends in his music barn!
Matt Smith
Hailing from North Carolina, Matt has been our main fabricator for a decade, creating consistent, quality products. Matt runs our CNC router, woodworking and metal fabrication tools. With decades of various trades skills, Matt will help to make your van dreams come to life. When off the clock, Matt enjoys rock climbing and teaching his two kiddos the way of life!
